CSCO 2020 - Cisco: CCNA 2


This course introduces the student to the Linux operating system.  The student will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to negotiate a Linux based computer system by performing a variety of administrative tasks and functions inherent in any Linux-based operating system. This course will cover all the necessary material to enable the student to take a TestOut Linux Pro and a CompTIA Linux + Certification Exam.

Minimum Student Competencies
Upon completion of COSC 2020 Linux Fundamentals, the student will:

  1. Use the Linux shell command line interface (CLI).
  2. Construct shell configuration scripts.
  3. Navigate directory and file systems.
  4. Design a Linux installation.
  5. Understand Linux boot process.
  6. Understand system service commands function.
  7. Understand Linux shutdown process.
  8. Manage user interface and desktop configuration.
  9. Understand software installation tools and shared libraries.
  10. Manage user accounts and groups.
  11. Manage disk and file systems.
  12. Manage hardware devices and drivers.
  13. Manage system processes, printers and print jobs.
  14. Configure task scheduling and system time.
  15. Use the Mail Transfer Agent (MTA).
  16. Understand system monitoring tools.
  17. Understand IPV4 and IPV6 protocols and network configuration.
  18. Implement system security safeguards and practices.
