MSFT 1520 - Windows Server Networking


This course provides students with the skills necessary to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems. This course will cover all the necessary material to enable the student to take a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Certification Exam.

Prerequisites:
MSFT 2605 Windows Client Operating System, or instructor consent

Minimum Student Competencies
Upon completion of MSFT 1520 Windows Server Networking, the student will:

  1. Install servers from planning through resource optimization.
  2. Configure server resources including storage.
  3. Configure file and share access.
  4. Configure print and document services.
  5. Configure servers for remote management.
  6. Create virtual machine settings (Hyper-V).
  7. Create virtual machine storage.
  8. Create virtual networks.
  9. Configure IPv4 and IPv6 addressing
  10. Configure Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) service.
  11. Configure DNS service.
  12. Install domain controllers.
  13. Create active directory users and computers.
  14. Create active directory groups and organizational units (OUs).
  15. Create group policy objects.
  16. Configure security policies.
  17. Configure application restriction policies.
  18. Configure Windows firewall.
