SOC 2400 - Criminology


This course examines the question of crime causation from legal, social, political, psychological, and theoretical perspectives. It introduces the nature of crime, statistics of criminal behavior, and explanations of criminal sanctions. It outlines the history and general development of criminology. Students discuss how criminal behavior affects our society. They critique the use of statistics, their validity and significance in criminological research.
