Agriculture AAS

This program provides the flexibility for Agriculture AAS degree bound students to focus on one of two major agriculture disciplines offered at Sheridan College while selecting from a variety of agriculture support courses with the assistance of their faculty advisor.  This is an ideal degree track for those wishing to explore a number of different agricultural-related areas or those wishing to acquire specific and unique skills and knowledge in agriculture.

Agriculture AAS Program Outcomes

• Apply the scientific method to real-world problems in agriculture.
• Develop a global perspective on the agricultural industry.
• Communicate effectively in the realm of agriculture.
• Compare marketing channels for agricultural products.

Required Course of Study


Freshman Year


Fall Semester: 13-14 credits


Spring Semester: 15-16 credits


Sophomore Year


Fall Semester: 15-16 credits


Spring Semester: 15-16 credits


Total Credit Hours: 60


Program Electives


Student must choose one of the following options:

Agriculture Business:

Program Electives:  28 credit hours from AGEC, AECL, AGRI, ANSC, BIOL, CHEM, CNTK, CROP, DESL, EQST, FCSC, FDSC, HORT, MCHT, REWM, WELD courses

Animal Science: 

Program Electives:  27 credit hours from ANSC, AECL, AGEC, AGRI, BIOL, CHEM, CNTK, CROP, DESL, EQST, FCSC, FDSC, HORT, MCHT, REWM, WELD courses

Students must collaborate with their faculty advisor to complete and maintain a Program of Study planning form that identifies a semester-by-semester sequence of courses that will lead to the AAS degree.
