The Environmental Engineering Technology AAS program introduces students to engineering and environmental concepts used in data collection, field sampling and surveying, and data management and modeling.  This program explores environmental standards that impact the day-to-day work of Environmental Technicians working in industry. The Environmental Engineering AAS program culminates with a multi-disciplinary capstone class focusing on data sampling using multiple scientific disciplines. The capstone class also uses CAD & GIS technologies to model and illustrate field data through geodatabases, CAD technology, field data collection units (GPS), and GIS mapping software.

Students who enroll in the Environmental Engineering Technology AAS program may wish to pursue a second degree in the Computer Aided Design AAS program, which carries up to 44 common credit hours for courses also offered in the Environmental Engineering Technology AAS program.

Environmental Engineering Technology Program Outcomes:
  1. Apply the fundamental principles of geology, environmental science, and engineering relative to environmental concerns.
  2. Perform environmental sampling in accordance with industry standards.
  3. Design a data collection project plan.
  4. Implement a date collection project plan.
  5. Evaluate the integrity of field data.
  6. Apply Geographical Information Systems and Computer Aided Design technology to present field data.
