General Studies AS

The General Studies Associate of Science Program is designed for students who wish to gain basic knowledge and explore curriculum choices.  This program includes 30 credits of General Education requirements, an additional lab science, plus 26 credits of general electives.  A major in General Studies allows you to choose classes from a variety of subjects and explore different areas of study.

General Studies Program Outcomes

  1. Communicate effectivety in multiple areas using appropriate medium.
  2. Apply mathematical techniques to real-world and theoretical problems.
  3. Differentiate among diverse human systems.
  4. Explain the impact of the arts and philosophy on the human condition.
  5. Apply the basic scientific method to real-world and theoritical problems.
  6. Analyze lifestyle components of personal wellness.
  7. Analyze lifestyle components of personal wellness. 
  8. Catogerize geographical and cultural elements that produce a particular human culture.

Notes


Science Requirement: Choose from - Earth Science, Life Science or Physical Science general education courses.

Cultural Studies (must be selected from at least two different areas): Choose from Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Visual and Performing Arts or Global Diversity general education courses.
