Associate of Fine Arts Degree Requirements


The Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree at Sheridan College for music and the visual arts is designed to prepare students in these disciplines for transfer into an upper division Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts degree program. Degree requirements necessitate coursework in many different areas to enable students to understand and appreciate his/her culture and environment. Students completing the Associate of Fine Arts are accepted with junior-level standing as transfers at a partnering baccalaureate degree-granting institutions.

Credit Requirements for Associate of Fine Arts Degree

Institutional Requirements:

  1. Complete a minimum of 60 credit hours at 1000 level and above.
  2. Complete a minimum of 15 credit hours of Sheridan College credit.
  3. Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (“C”) or better in classes 1000 level or above.

 

COMMUNICATION - Must earn a grade of “C” or better
