Welding is a general term that involves processes used to join both metals and non-metals using heat. Welders possess skills that are vital to industries such as construction, oil and gas, mining, pipe fitting, equipment repair, aero-space, and manufacturing.

Qualified welders are in demand across the nation and around the world. As technology within the field of welding continuously improves, welders with up-to-date knowledge and a high skill level can advance rapidly in many different areas of the industry.

The welding program at Sheridan College and Gillette College offers instruction in a wide ranging set of skills. Our instructors provide hands-on opportunities for every student, from those wishing to develop basic skills to those wanting to expand their skill level using state-of the- art technology and equipment.

The program also offers classes in welding theory, fabrication skills, print reading, and metallurgy in addition to a lot of hands-on time welding a variety of material.

Sheridan College and Gillette College welding instructors work closely with local employers to make sure the skills you learn will provide you with the ability to excel in these demanding industries.

Sheridan College and Gillette College boasts a 90% job placement rate for students who successfully complete the program. Without a doubt the Sheridan College welding program is at the top of its class.
