The Physical Education K-12 program of study is designed to prepare students to meet academic standards leading to a Bachelor’s degree and to prepare future teachers for the K-12 classroom and related professions in the broader discipline.

• Distinguish between the characteristics of primary and secondary physical education.
• Develop age appropriate lesson plans.
• Implement age appropriate lesson plans in a classroom setting.
• Evaluate individual teaching performances as they relate to student learning.
• Analyze current issues and trends in physical education, fitness, and wellness.
• Interpret the physical education field’s contribution to children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Apply Universal Precautions in a safe and effective manner when handling bodily fluids.
