Animal Science

The Associate of Science in Animal Science is an agricultural degree that allows students to gain knowledge and experience in this multi-disciplinary field, including opportunities to focus on livestock production, equine science or pre-veterinary preparation. Students build upon a foundation of science with hands-on, practical animal science courses in their area of interest.

Animal Science Program Outcomes:

  1. Design solutions to real-world agricultural issues using the scientific method
  2. Analyze how governmental regulations apply to animal science
  3. Assess feed nutrients and how they are necessary for the health, growth and development of livestock.
  4. Evaluate various types of livestock and their nutritional and economic contributions nationally and globally.
