Administrative Assistants are responsible for a variety of administrative duties that allow an organization to run efficiently.  AA’s wear many hats at their place of employment and are often responsible for coordinating meetings, organizing paper and electronic files, answering phones, assisting customers or members of the public, and handling aspects of a company’s budget.

The Administrative Assistant Certificate of Completion Program prepares students to handle a variety of administrative duties.  Students will develop skills in computer applications, meeting planning, records management, customer service, teamwork, interpersonal communication, document creation and formatting, and budgeting.  Students may pursue Microsoft certification in the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) program.  Students may complete the certificate and continue with the Business AAS Program.

Students at Gillette College who pursue a Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree in Administrative Assistant are those who are interested in working with the public as well as members of an organization.
