Construction Technology AAS

The Construction Technology Program emphasizes the hands-on facets of the industry as well as drafting and management skills. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in occupations related to the design and construction of buildings. Students develop skills and technical knowledge that apply to field work and construction management practices; with these skills students are prepared for entry-level employment or job advancement within the industry.

Construction Technology Program Outcomes

  1. Integrate information from residential and commercial blueprints to solve building problems.
  2. Apply communications skills in an industry setting.
  3. Operate construction tools and equipment.
  4. Perform wood cutting and milling operations.
  5. Perform construction mathematics applications.
  6. Employ construction safety skills.

Note


Sheridan College also offers a carpentry apprenticeship program designed to meet the yearly state requirements for eligibility to become a journeyman’s carpenter.
