Physical Education AS

The Physical Education program of study is designed to prepare students to meet academic standards leading to a Bachelor’s degree and to prepare future teachers for the K-12 classroom and related professions in the broader discipline.

 Physical Education Program Outcomes:

  • Describe the characteristics of primary and secondary physical education.
  • Analyze individually observed teaching performances.
  • Analyze current issues and trends in physical education, fitness, and wellness.
  • Explain the physical education field’s contribution to child development.
  • Apply Universal Precautions in a safe and effective manner when handling bodily fluids.


Required Course of Study for AS Degree


Freshman Year

Sophomore Year

Total Degree Credit Hours: 64


First Aid / CPR must be obtained in order for students to graduate with the Physical Education degree.
