BADM 1005 - Business Mathematics This course reviews and develops skills in handling the mathematics of business transactions, including percentages, discounts, interests, profit and loss, payrolls, taxes, and installment buying. It is designed to give business majors a working knowledge of mathematical functions within the field. The course serves well as preparation for many subject areas within the business area, especially accounting. The practical nature of the presentation, the realistic business scenarios, and the measurement of success prepare the student for additional courses in business and the world of work. The course is a good course for the non-business majors, giving them skills to make wise monetary decisions.
Prerequisites: MATH 0900 Pre-Algebra with a grade of C or better, Compass placement of Pre-Algebra 45-100 or Algebra 0-65, or ACT math score of 17 or higher
General Education Requirement: Basic Math
Credits: 3
Contact Hours: 3 lecture hrs/week
Comments: This course meets the Basic Math requirement only for the Administrative Assistant, Business AAS, Culinary and Hopsitality programs.
