MATH 0930 - Intermediate Algebra This course covers inequalities, factoring, fractional expressions, functions, graphs, systems of linear equations, exponents, radicals, quadratics and rational equations in preparation for MATH 1400 Pre-Calculus Algebra.

Comments: This course does not meet the math requirement at NWCCD or UW.
Prerequisites: MATH 0900 Pre-Algebra with a grade of “C” or better OR Math placement level 3
Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of MATH 0930 Intermediate Algebra, the student will:
- Define a function with “real world” examples.
- Graph linear equations and data points.
- Solve simple linear equations and inequalities.
- Solve systems of linear equations.
- Manipulate polynomial expressions by adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing polynomials.
- Manipulate rational expressions and solve rational equations.
- Manipulate expressions and solve equations which involve radicals and rational exponents.
- Solve quadratic equations.
- Graph quadratic equations.
- Gactor expressions.
- Assess the appropriate unit to be placed on the numerical solution to an application problem using unit analysis.
- Graph linear inequalities.
