DESL 1595 - Diesel Essentials This course introduces fundamental concepts for students studying the diesel industry. This course covers precision measuring tools, basic hand tools, basic shop equipment, specialty tools, hardware, and safety practices when using these tools and equipment.

Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of DESL 1595 Diesel Essentials the student will:
- Appropriately use a variety of precision measuring tools.
- Differentiate between metric and SAE fasteners.
- Apply English/Metric conversations.
- Operate basic tools and shop equipment safely.
- Examine specialty tools used to repair diesel equipment.
- Explore online databases and service literature commonly used in the diesel industry.
