MCHT 2300 - Manufacturing Quality This course is designed for inspection personnel, engineering personnel, production personnel, entry level inspectors, and those who would like to enter into the field of dimensional measurement and CMM programming. This course covers everything from the program interface, probe selection and qualification to programming. Students will expand on the concept of GD&T and will utilize CMM technology to inspect parts and prototypes for quality assurance.

Instructional Method Lecture and Lab
Prerequisites: MCHT 1630 Tools, Instruments & Machines, MCHT 1800 Interpret Prints & Drawings, MCHT 2520 Solidworks, or instructor consent
Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of Manufacturing Quality (MCHT 2300), the student will:
- Interpret information, dimensions, & tolerances from blue print.
- Interpret GD&T symbols on blue print.
- Produce data from probing points on parts.
- Identify common measuring features: planes, lines, points, cylinders, circles, spheres, cones.
- Measure common features: planes, lines points, cylinders, circles, spheres, cones.
- Set up and create base alignments with manual probing.
- Create a plan for a program layout.
- Identify and create a care and maintenance plan for CMM.
- Create and execute a program to fully inspect a part.
- Generate a printout of results.
