ART 2145 - Digital Photography I This is an introductory still photography class dealing with both the practical and conceptual bases of photography. Students will learn basic photographic technique including operation of the camera, lenses and associated accessories, and application of basic photographic techniques such as exposure calculation, shutter speed control, manipulation of depth of field, etc. Further, the student will begin to understand and interpret photographic imagery, practice critical thinking, and discover the possibilities of camera made images. Lectures will introduce the work of noted photographers, the evolution of aesthetics and theory associated with the history of the medium, and examine the impact that the photographic image exerts in contemporary culture. Minimum Credits: 3 General Education Cultural Studies-Visual & Performing Arts Grading: Letter
