DSCI 2200 - Project Planning and Execution


This course covers the role of a project manager in the selection, definition, and planning of projects.  From creating project purpose statements to prioritizing project goals that consider time, cost, quality, risk, and available resources, this course explores all aspects of project planning.   Topics include the project life cycle, the phase gate model, the choice and application of selection criteria, scope management, and the management of stakeholders.  The use of project management tools such as a project charter, scope statement, a work breakdown structure, and a communication plan are also introduced.
