PLUM 1560 - Plumbing Apprenticeship III


This course is the third in a series of four classes required to meet the 576 total hours of educational training for an approved State Supervised Apprenticeship program. This Level III course provides students with 144 hours of educational training enhancing their understanding of several of the topics introduced in the Level I and II courses.  Level III Plumbing curriculum includes the following: applied math concepts and functional application of six simple machines used in plumbing; teaches techniques for sizing, protecting, treating, and troubleshooting water supply systems; reviews types of vents and outlines processes for sizing DWV (drain, waste, and vent) and storm systems; outlines safety precautions and hazards, installation and repair of sewage and sump pumps, corrosive-resistant waste piping, and compressed air systems; and details service plumbing procedures for troubleshooting and repairing various plumbing systems.  This course emphasizes safe work procedures and will provide students with a foundation for further technical areas of study. 
Prerequisites: Successful completion of PLUM 1540 Plumbing Apprenticeship II.
Co-requisites: Student must be registered in an approved apprenticeship program.
Minimum Credits: 6
Grading: Letter
