PLUM 1580 - Plumbing Apprenticeship IV This course is the fourth and final course required to meet the 576 total hours of educational training for an approved State Supervised Apprenticeship program. This Level IV course provides students with the final144 hours of educational training enhancing their understanding of several of the topics introduced in the Level I,II, and III courses. Level IV Plumbing curriculum includes theory and skill development in the following content areas: water pressure booster and recirculation systems; code requirements for handling indirect and special waste systems; introduces basic hydronic and solar heating systems; installation, operation and maintenance of private water supply well and private waste disposal systems; introduction to swimming pools, hot tubs and spas; design, layout, installation, and connection of mobile home and travel trailer park water and wastewater systems; introduction to medical gas and vacuum systems; plumbing codes used throughout the country; introduction to business principles; and significant knowledge and practice outlining the fundamentals of plumbing crew leadership. Prerequisites: Successful completiion of PLUM 1560 Plumbing Apprenticeship III. Co-requisites: Student must be registered in an approved apprenticeship program. Minimum Credits: 6 Comments: This course will be delivered once per year. Grading: Letter
