CRMJ 1015 - Homeland Security This course provides a comprehensive overview of the principles and practices of homeland security in the United States. Students will examine the evolution of homeland security, from its origins in response to terrorist attacks, to the modern “all-hazards” approach to domestic security. This course focuses on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating a wide range of threats, from international and domestic terrorism, to foreign state actor attacks, to natural disasters, pandemics, and even cyberattacks. Key topics include theories on radicalization, terrorist ideologies, critical infrastructure protection, immigration issues, emergency management principles, border security, and cybersecurity. The intersection between Constitutional rights and the need for domestic security will also be addressed. Minimum Credits: 3 Grading: Letter
