ART 2410 - Ceramics I This course concentrates on the various methods of pottery construction and the basics of glazing, decorating and firing work. Hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab rolling will be covered as well as working on the potters wheel. Creativity will be stimulated through open sculptural assignments. Utility and function will be explored through a variety of forms, including cups and bowls. Students will learn the necessary techniques and processes that will prepare them to move on the the next level.
