The Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees at NWCCD are primarily designed to prepare students for transfer to a baccalaureate degree program. The general education requirements necessitate coursework in diverse areas that enrich students’ understanding of the world, the importance of computation and critical analysis, and the value of knowledge. Both degrees are offered for multiple areas of study and provide students an opportunity to explore deeply within a particular domain in order to attain preliminary mastery within their chosen discipline. Students completing an AA or AS degree at NWCCD are accepted with junior-level standing as transfers at partnering baccalaureate degree-granting institutions.
