The Mining Technology AAS program is designed for incumbent workers in the mining industry who are supervisors or aspire to be leaders in their organization.
The program gives students a big-picture view of mining operations through the technical study of mine operations, and develop leadership skills in business and communication.
Mining Technology Program Outcomes:
- Evaluate the relationships of mine operations, processes, methods & practices
- Evaluate the role of supervision and management in the planning and execution of organizational goals
- Explain the importance of safety in mining operations
- Summarize State and Federal regulations governing the surface mining industry
- Develop effective leadership managment and communication skills
- Assess economic effectiveness of employees, equipment and processes within area of supervisory responsibility
- Apply fundamental technical skills and knowledge as they apply to mining
