The Social Science program at NWCCD provides students with core knowledge in anthropology, sociology, and psychology. This multidisciplinary program is designed to meet the complex curricular interests of students who may not achieve their professional goals through study in a single discipline. Students are introduced to the foundational concepts in social science and are prepared for advanced study at a 4-year institution
Social Sciences Program Outcomes:
- apply basic research methods in anthropology or sociology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- explore sociocultural diversity, on local, country and international levels.
- examine the applicability of theory and empirical findings to social, policy and global issues.
- summarize the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, and historical trends in anthropology or sociology.
- assess the functionality of societies both present and past.
