Computer Networking Administration AAS

The Computer Networking Administration AAS Program prepares students for technical roles in various fields of information technology.  Successful completion of this program prepares students for recognized certifications such as the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), the CompTIA A+, Linux +, Cloud + and the Microsoft Client and Server exams.  Additionally, students learn to use various scripting tools, structured query language (SQL) and gain an appreciation for their role in security of systems.   Students also develop speaking and writing skills, allowing them to more effectively communicate with colleagues and employers.

Program Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate set-up and basic maintenance of operating systems used by clients and servers such as Microsoft Windows and Linux distributions.

  2. Explain cloud computing infrastructure and implementation options.

  3. Describe virtualization technology solutions and their use.

  4. Configure network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls

  5. Apply troubleshooting methodology to identify and resolve technology problems in hardware and software systems.

  6. Create scripting for use in an enterprise network environment

  7. Demonstrate a working knowledge of databases and SQL programming

  8. Apply basic security controls to protect hardware, software and data assets.

Coursework must be completed with a C or better for all requirements.
