Business AS

The Business AS program is designed to provide a foundation for students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at a four-year college or university, or who intend to directly enter the workforce. The program is designed to give students the opportunity to participate in various activities that present fundamental principles and ethical dilemmas associated with the formation and management of a business enterprise.

The program transitions seamlessly to the online business administration program or other on-campus programs at the University of Wyoming.  It is also designed to transfer to other business programs in our region.

Program Outcomes:
  1. Examine financial statements and operating results to make informed business decisions

  2. Examine the management functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling, and how they relate to business operations.

  3. Analyze the ways an information system affects an organization’s competitive advantage.

  4. Describe basic ethical practices in business.

  5. Analyze the basic features of domestic and international economic systems.

  6. Communicate using written, oral, and visual communications skills.

This program may be offered online.

Required Course of Study:

Freshman Year


Fall Semester - 14 credits


Sophomore Year


Fall Semester - 16 credits


Spring Semester - 14 credits


Total Credit Hours: 61


Advanced Business Standing at UW:


Following the course of study above, with MATH 2355 in the third semester, will give students Advanced Business Standing when transferring to the University of Wyoming. It puts students in a position to complete a Bachelor’s degree in two more years.
