The Computer Science Teaching Certificate is designed for teachers seeking a Wyoming PTSB Computer Science endorsement. The program focuses on the topics, tools and best practices needed to teach computer science in grades 6-12. The sequence of classes selected allow teachers to gain the competencies they need to support a variety of computer science classes. Those completing the program take with them both knowledge and a set of easy-to-use instructional tools for their classrooms.
Program Outcomes:
1. Use appropriate techniques, technologies and tools to implement solutions to computational problems.
2. Ability to use both procedural and object-oriented coding techniques.
3. Apply knowledge of computing and mathematics to solve problems applicable to the discipline.
4. Apply programming knowledge to debug and fix broken code.
5. Gain hands-on experience with modern tools and environments for teaching programming.
6. Use appropriate techniques, technologies and tools to configure client operating systems, wired or wireless networking, and basic end-user applications.
