Management and Leadership BAS

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Management and Leadership, with two areas of emphasis 1) Business and 2) Industrial Technology, provides students the upper division education and practical training needed to succeed in supervisory, management or leadership positions in a wide range of businesses and industries. The Industrial Technology emphasis incorporates the unique practical applications found among Career and Technical Education (CTE) disciplines. Students learn various aspects of management including finance, business law, strategic planning, human resource management, project management, operations management, non-profit organizations, leadership, and professional and organizational communications. The program focuses on real-world application with case studies, research projects and presentations. Students will have the opportunity to work in teams throughout the program.

Program Outcomes:

1. Evaluate financial statements and operating results to develop business decisions and solutions.

2. Assess the effectiveness or efficiency of management functions to optimize business operations and achieve organizational goals.

3. Demonstrate ethical practices in business.

4. Assess the impact of economic trends on domestic and international economic systems to inform strategic business planning.

5. Determine the written, oral, and visual communication skills needed to effectively manage and lead diverse audiences and stakeholders.

6. Create decision-making models from experiential learning to improve problem-solving and strategic planning in management contexts.

This program was approved by the Higher Learning Commission on October 11, 2024.

This program does not qualify for federal financial aid at this time.

Required Course of Study:

Lower Division Requirements

Any Associate’s or Associates of Applied Science degree completion with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.

A minimum of 15 lower-level general education semester credits and 45 program semester credit hours for Associate of Applied Science or 25 lower-level general education semester credits and 35 program credit hours for an Associate’s degree.
A total of 60 lower division credits is required.

Freshman Year

Students should first work with their advisor to plan years 1 and 2 in an Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degree.

Students should first work with their advisor to plan years 1 and 2 in an Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degree.
