Diesel Technology Certificate

The Diesel Technology Certificate Program prepares students for entry-level positions in the mechanic field.  In addition to gaining an overall understanding of diesel engines, students develop skills in the areas of fuel systems, electrical systems, electronic controls, and drivetrains. 

Program Outcomes

  1. Perform diagnostic procedures used in the construction, mining, agricultural, and trucking industry to effectively troubleshoot and repair diesel powered vehicles.  

  2. Communicate effectively with customers and shop personnel. 

  3.  Apply appropriate Diesel workplace skills. 

  4. Perform safe working practices in the work place. 

  5. Apply critical thinking skills for the mechanical field. 

Coursework must be completed with a C or better.

This program offers two cohorts for each campus.  Please work with your advisor regarding your cohort timeline.

Required Course of Study: 

Fall Semester - Total Credit Hours: 14-20


Total Certificate Credit Hours: 30-36
