Industrial Technology AAS

The Industrial Technology AAS program enables students to design an individualized program of study that focuses on educational interests leading to career pathways.  The variety of courses offered enhances the student’s learning experience while also providing insight and knowledge about specific areas related to technical careers.

Students planning to concurrently work toward an AAS degree in another CTE program must have a minimum of 30 program elective credits from outside the department of the second AAS program.

Program Outcomes:

PO #1. Utilize appropriate technology in problem solving.

PO #2. Apply subject area appropriate strategies in problem solving situations.

PO #3. Apply appropriate mathematical strategies in problem solving.

PO #4. Synthesize knowledge appropriately. 

PO #5. Convey and draw meaning through writing relevant to industry standards. 

PO #6. Communicate through means other than speaking and writing appropriate to industry.

*Students interested in the Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Management and Leadership should be advised to take MATH 1000 Problem Solving or higher, advanced writing (AW), or ECON/AGEC 1010 Macroeconomics or ECON/AGEC 1020 Microeconomics as general education options. (If a student is considering transfer to university or college for advanced studies, MATH 1500 is a career technical course, and is not transferrable).

Program Electives: 45 credit hours

A minimum of 36 credits must come from any of the following departments: AMMP, CMAP, CMV, CNTK, CSCO, CSEC, CULA, DESL, ELAP, ELTR, ENTK, EQST, FDSC, FSHM, HOSP, HVAC, INET, LS, MANF, MCHT, MFGC, MINE, MSFT, PLUM, TECH, and/or WELD.  (A student may choose to take all 45 credits from these departments.)

Up to 9 credits may be from any of the following departments: ACCT, AGEC, AGRI, BADM, BIOL, BUSN, CHEM, COM, COSC, ECON, ENGL, ES, GIST, MATH, MGT, PHYS, PSYC, REWM, SAFE, and/or STAT.
