Industrial Electricity AAS

The Industrial Electricity AAS program prepares students to install, test, inspect, troubleshoot, and service electrical equipment vital to the operation of commercial businesses and industry. This equipment includes motors, generators, pumps, lighting systems, and associated electrical controls. This program includes specialized courses where students work with equipment used in industry.

Program Outcomes:

PO #1. Apply electrical safety practices and procedures  

PO #2. Utilize a programmable logic controller.

PO #3. Interpret electrical drawings and diagrams 

PO #4. Demonstrate AC single phase, three phase and DC Transformers, motors, and motor drive theory. 

PO #5. Utilize the National Electrical Code (NEC)  

PO #6. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting with applicable tools and instruments 

PO #7. Understand and apply safe and proper procedures required for medium voltage systems. 

PO #8. Demonstrate the use and application of basic tools of the electrical trade 

PO #9. Explain the use of basic materials used in the electrical trade

*Students interested in the Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Management and Leadership should be advised to take MATH 1000 or higher, advanced writing (AW), or ECON/AGEC1010 or ECON/AGEC1020 as general education options. (If a student is considering transfer to university or college for advanced studies, MATH 1500 is a career technical course, and is not transferrable).
