Human Services AA

The Human Services AA offers practical training in the counseling industry. Students may use this Associates degree to find employment opportunities in day-care centers, mental health centers, nonprofit organizations, adult care facilities, substance abuse centers, facilities for the developmentally disabled, hospitals, K-12 school districts or any mental health service or organization.

Program Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate a knowledge of mental health industry ethical standards of practice.

  2. Identify appropriate mental health interventions and services.

  3. Identify evidence-based mental health theories that promote healthy human functioning.

  4. Apply effective mental health communication skills using oral, written, and interpersonal modalities.

  5. Utilize mental health practices within the community or through scenario-based applications.

  6. Construct a comprehensive evidence-based treatment plan for a scenario-based client.

This program may be offered online.

This program was approved by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) on April 14, 2026.
