Human Services Certificate of Completion

The Human Services certificate is designed to prepare students for employment opportunities in hospitals, group homes and halfway houses; correctional, intellectual disability, and community mental health centers; family, K-12 school districts, child, and youth service agencies, and programs concerned with alcoholism, drug abuse, family violence, and aging. This certificate can also be paired with a Nursing degree to provide additional mental health training for nursing staff aspiring to work in Behavioral Health Units. 

Program Outcomes:

  1. Recall mental health industry’s ethical standards of practice.

  2. Summarize appropriate mental health interventions and services.

  3. Recall evidence-based mental health theories that promote healthy human functioning.

  4. Demonstrate effective mental health communication skills using oral, written, and interpersonal modalities.  

  5. Model mental health practices within the community or through scenario-based applications.

This program may be offered online.

This program was approved by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) on April 14, 2026.

This program’s federal financial aid is awaiting approval.
