Agriculture AAS

This program provides the flexibility for Agriculture AAS degree bound students to focus on one of the three major agriculture disciplines offered at Sheridan College while selecting from a wide variety of agriculture support courses with the assistance of their faculty advisor.  This is an ideal degree track for those wishing to explore a number of different agricultural-related areas or those wishing to acquire specific and unique skills and knowledge in agriculture.

Agriculture AAS Program Outcomes

• Apply the scientific method to real-world problems in agriculture.
• Develop a global perspective on the agricultural industry.
• Communicate effectively in the realm of agriculture.
• Access industry information pertaining to governmental regulatory information.
• Compare marketing channels for agricultural products.

Required Course of Study for AAS Degree:

Freshman Year


Fall Semester - Total Credit Hours: 16


Sophomore Year


Fall Semester - Total Credits: 16


Spring Semester - Total Credit: 16


Total Degree Credit Hours: 64


**Program Electives


 Student must choose one of the following options:

Agriculture Business:  45 credit hours of AGEC, AECL, ANSC, BIOL, CHEM, CROP, EQST, FCSC, FDSC, HORT, REWM courses

Animal Science:  45 credit hours of ANSC, AECL, AGEC, BIOL, CHEM, CROP, EQST, FCSC, FDSC, HORT, REWM courses

Food Science:  45 credit hours of FCSC, FDSC, ANSC, AGEC, AECL, BIOL, CHEM, CROP, EQST, HORT, REWM courses

Students must also collaborate with their faculty advisor to complete and maintain the Program of Study planning form that identifies a semester-by-semester sequence of courses that will lead to the AAS degree.
