Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD) is a multi-campus community college serving Sheridan, Campbell, and Johnson Counties. Committed to creating student success and making a difference in the communities it serves, NWCCD serves over 8,000 credit and non-credit students per year.
The Culinary Arts AAS Program is designed to prepare students to become certified, successful culinarians. Operating from the Wyoming Culinary Institute in Sheridan, the program provides a comprehensive, hands-on approach to training the modern-day culinarian. Students receive instruction in a variety of cuisines in addition to foundational practices for efficient operation of the kitchen.
Culinary Arts AAS Program Outcomes:
Demonstrate proper kitchen equipment operation and maintenance skills
Evaluate production techniques as outlined by the American Culinary Federation
Evaluate costing methods for maximum profitability
Create a menu with the appropriate aesthetic plate presentation
Prepare menu items in a restaurant industry setting
Perform decision making and leadership skills to function effectively in the hospitality industry
