MUSC 1415 - Introduction to Music Technology This is a course for students interested in using personal computers to create live, recorded, and engraved music. No specific prior music or computer training is assumed. Emphasis is placed on common desktop music production techniques that are applicable to a variety of hardware, software programs, and operating systems regardless of manufacturer or developer.

Instructional Method Lecture
Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of (Prefix Number Course Name) , the student will:
- apply basic theoretical concepts and vocabulary of music technology.
- explain the functions of the components that comprise a computer music workstation.
- demonstrate competency using current software to organize and edit digital audio, and to create written and recorded music.
