MUSC 1480 - Chamber Music Ensemble This course is a music ensemble which provides students with training in the medium of chamber music (small ensembles, such as trio, string quartet, etc.). Specific topics include rhythm, intonation, tone-production, blend, musical interpretation, concept of style, and matters related to historically-informed performance. A maximum of 4 credit hours in MUSC 1480 Chamber Music Ensemble can be counted toward an Associate Degree at NWCCD.

Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of MUSC 1480 Chamber Music Ensemble, the student will:
- execute the basic elements common to literature studied, regardless of style or genre.
- incorporate a technical vocabulary associated with music performance.
- distinguish between various music styles, genres, musicians and historical periods.
- demonstrate proper performance technique appropriate for his or her instrument.
- respond to non-verbal communication from the director and other performers.
- demonstrate an awareness of musical expression through performance of selected literature.
- demonstrate an awareness of musical expression through performance of selected literature.
