AMMP 2520 - Additive Manufacturing-3D Printing This course provides an in-depth dive into additive manufacturing also known as 3D printing. Included in this course is an introduction to materials and methods used in additive manufacturing as well as the applications in advanced manufacturing. This course content includes a survey of mechanical concepts, types of printing options currently available in the market, plastics, metals, resins, and a look at future materials and processes. In depth look at current industry practices, industry challenges, and applications. Different types of printing, stereolithography, FDM, laser sintering, machines, and operations. Programming, slicing, and hands on laboratory work. This course utilizes parametric modeling and slicing software for hands on project development. Minimum Credits: 3 Prerequisites: Math 1400 College Algebra or higher and MCHT 2520 Parametric Modeling with a C or better or instructor consent Grading: Letter
