PEPR 2135 - Personal Trainer Education I


The course introduces students to the principles of exercise physiology and client assessment.  Students learn how to properly screen clients for safe participation in an exercise program, utilize different tools for assessing a client’s fitness level, and identify appropriate assessment techniques for a wide variety of clientele.  It is the first of a two part series designed to prepare students to take the National Council on Strength and Fitness Personal Trainer Certification exam.

Credits: 3

Lecture/Lab Hours: 2 lecture, 1 lab hr/week
