MINE 2800 - Mine Management and Systems This course is an introduction to organizational models, mine management strategies, operational systems and production systems used in surface mining. Students research the history and economic viability of surface mining as an industry. Using basic concepts for project and process planning and evaluation, students explore the business of surface mining. By exploring organizational designs, methods of mining, a mine’s life-cycle, customer analysis, production management, this course provides a broad overview of the management techniques and systems used in modern surface mining.
