EDEC 1300 - Early Chilhood Curriculum
This course explores a variety of curricula and theoretical approaches to teaching young children. Emphasis is placed on understanding the interplay of state and national regulations and standards frameworks of developmentally appropriate practices. Students develop skills to effectively support children’s growth and development in all domains (physical, social, emotional, cognitive) as well as tools and strategies for documenting and sharing children’s progress. Students will have opportunities to analyze actual practice as well as design leaning activities, environments, and assessments with focus on the whole child and address the needs of diverse learners.
Prerequisites: EDEC 1020 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education and EDEC 1100 - Observation, Guidance and Assessment of Young Children (or concurrent enrollment in EDEC 1100)
