Rangeland Management AS

The Rangeland Management program prepares students to pursue careers or higher degrees in areas that involve management of our natural resources. Students who are interested in studying ecology to accomplish management goals such as: managing sustainable and productive livestock forage, ensuring clean and adequate water supplies, beautifying recreational scenery, and improving wildlife habitat will benefit from the comprehensive and hands-on education that this degree provides.  Students participating in this degree program will frequently pursue careers in rangeland ecology and management, ranch land stewardship, wildlife management, restoration ecology, and environmental consulting. 

Rangeland Management AS Program Outcomes:

  1. Compare fundamental principles of conservation and natural resource management.
  2. Differentiate conservation management techniques to monitor natural resource ecosystems.
  3. Examine the concept of sustainability as a cornerstone of resource management.
  4. Evaluate flora and fauna for multiple land use purposes.
  5. Assess the economic impact of land management decisions.
  6. Analyze appropriate information pertaining to governmental regulations.
