The NWCCD Nursing Program offers an optional Practical Nursing certificate. Upon successful completion of the first year, students will have the option to earn the practical nursing certificate. Students who earn this certificate are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).
Program Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to make safe clinical decisions.
2. Provide care in compliance with the practical nursing scope of practice.
3. Practice nursing according to established professional and ethical standards for the practical nurse.
4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to create a patient-centered environment.
All courses for the Nursing Certificate program must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher.
