Human Services AA

The Human Services AA offers three area of concentration: Social Work preparatory, Addictions Practitioner, and Public Health. Students may use this Associates degree to find employment opportunities in day-care centers, mental health centers, school systems, adult care facilities, substance abuse centers, facilities for the developmentally disabled, or any mental health service or organization.
Program Outcomes:

Identify appropriate intervention services.

Analyze conditions that promote healthy human functioning.

Communicate using oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

Apply learning within the community or through scenario-based applications.

Concentration Areas for Program Electives
The following are suggested courses within concentration areas. Students may mix & match to meet their educational goals. A total of 15-21 credits in program electives is required.
Social Work Prep
Courses in this area of concentration was designed in collaboration with the University of Wyoming’s Social Work program. The Human Services AA degree is articulated with the BSW program in a 2+2 transfer degree agreement.
Addictions Practitioner
Courses are aligned with the Wyoming Mental Health Professional’s Licensing Board’s established rules. See: http://mentalhealth.wyo.gov/
Public Health
Courses have been selected through a collaborative effort with the Nursing faculty to provide a degree pathway pending Nursing application selection.
General
Any combination of program electives or areas of concentration courses to satisfy the requisite of 15-21 credits to meet the overall hours requirement.
