This program is designed to provide students with the first two years of the required curriculum for a bachelor’s of science degree in Athletic Training. Students develop an understanding of the principles and fundamentals of the athletic training field. Students also develop skills in care and prevention techniques as well as have basic exposure to therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation. The athletic training program articulates with the University of Montana and Montana State University - Billings. Upon completion of the two year degree, students may apply to either program at UM or MSU-B and enter as a Junior.
Program Outcomes:

Develop the scientific knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to transfer to a CAATE Accredited Athletic Training program.

Discuss the foundational principles of athletic training as a profession.

Demonstrate technical skills consistent with the current practice of athletic training

Practice critical thinking, decision making, and communication skills in the classroom and during clinical experiences.
A grade of C or better is required for all Health & Human Performance courses, science courses, basic mathematics and writing courses.
