General Studies AS

The General Studies AS program is designed to allow students to customize a broad-based curriculum for ease of credit transfer to a university.  It also allows students the flexibility to explore multiple fields of interest.

Program Outcomes:
  1. Communicate effectively in multiple areas using appropriate medium.

  2. Apply mathematical techniques to real-world and theoretical problems.

  3. Differentiate among diverse human systems.

  4. Explain the impact of the arts and philosophy on the human condition.

  5. Apply the basic scientific method to real-world and theoretical problems.

  6. Categorize geographical and cultural elements that produce a particular human culture.

This program may be offered online.

Required Course of Study: 

Freshman Year


Fall Semester - 13 credits


Spring Semester - 16 credits


Sophomore Year


Fall Semester - 15 credits


Spring Semester - 16 credits


Total Credit Hours: 60


Note


Cultural Studies must be selected from at least two areas: Global Diversity, Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Visual and Performing Arts
