The Associate of Science in Animal Science is an agricultural degree that allows students to gain knowledge and experience in this multi-disciplinary field. Students build upon a foundation of science with hands-on, practical animal science courses in their area of interest.
Program Outcomes:

Design solutions to real-world animal production issues using best management practices and the scientific method.

Demonstrate knowledge of animal husbandry, behavior and handling techniques to effectively interact with animals in a safe and humane manner.

Differentiate concepts of reproduction, nutrition, herd-health, economics, and management between livestock production programs to make them practical and profitable.

Evaluate the role of nutrition and develop feed rations for the different livestock production systems.

Investigate the ever-changing demands of animal agriculture and demonstrate how to be pro-active to meet consumer demand.
A “C” or better in all required program courses & the following general education courses – math, science, basic and advanced writing.
