The Culinary Arts AAS Program is designed to prepare students to become certified, successful culinarians. Operating from the Wyoming Culinary Institute in Sheridan, the program provides a comprehensive, hands-on approach to training the modern-day culinarian. Students receive instruction in a variety of cuisines in addition to foundational practices for efficient operation of the kitchen.
Culinary Arts Program Outcomes:
- Demonstrate proper kitchen equipment operation and maintenance skills
- Evaluate production techniques as outlined by the American Culinary Federation
- Evaluate costing methods for maximum profitability
- Create a menu with the appropriate aesthetic plate presentation
- Prepare menu items in a restaurant industry setting
- Perform decision making and leadership skills to function effectively in the hospitality industry
